1. Data We Collect

We believe in data minimalism. We only collect what is strictly necessary to operate the bot:

  • Slack Workspace Data: We store your Slack Team ID, selected Channel IDs, and an authentication token (Access Token) to post messages on your behalf.
  • Configuration Data: We store app tracking settings such as app identifiers, platform, country, routing destination, and selected filter preferences (for example bugs/features/service/praise/translation).
  • Public App Store Data: We fetch reviews, ratings, and app metadata. These are publicly available on the App Store and Google Play.
  • Review Tracking: We store numeric IDs of processed reviews solely to prevent duplicate notifications.
  • Billing Data: Handled securely by Stripe. We store only Stripe customer/subscription identifiers needed for plan management; we do not access or store your credit card information.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Fetch and filter reviews for the apps you subscribe to.
  • Deliver notifications to your configured Slack channel.
  • Perform AI sentiment analysis to categorize feedback (e.g., Bugs vs. Feature Requests).
  • Process subscription payments via Stripe.

  • Contractual necessity: to provide app tracking, routing, billing, and support.
  • Legitimate interests: security monitoring, abuse prevention, service reliability, and product improvement.
  • Legal obligations: where required by tax, accounting, or regulatory law.

3. Data Sharing & Subprocessors

We do not sell your data. We share data only with essential infrastructure providers:

  • Render (EU, Frankfurt): application hosting.
  • Supabase (EU, eu-central-1): PostgreSQL database.
  • Stripe (EU, Ireland): secure payment processing.
  • OpenAI (United States): sentiment classification and summarization of public review text. No user-identifiable Slack data is sent to AI.
  • PostHog (EU Cloud): website analytics on our marketing site only.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

5. Your Data Rights

Workspace admins may request to access, export, correct, or delete data associated with their workspace.

To submit a request, email support@reviewsentinel.app with subject line Data Request and include:

  • Slack workspace name and Team ID.
  • Requested action: access/export, correction, or deletion.

Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights to access, correction, deletion, and portability.

If you are in the EEA or UK and have unresolved concerns, you may contact your local data protection authority.

We respond to verified requests within 7 business days.

6. Security Practices

  • We store only data required to operate the service.
  • Slack requests are authenticated using Slack signing secret verification before processing.
  • Payment card details are never stored by ReviewSentinel and are processed by Stripe.
  • Secrets and credentials are managed via environment-level configuration.
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.

7. International Data Transfers

We and our subprocessors may process data in countries outside your jurisdiction. Where applicable, transfers are protected using contractual and organizational safeguards supported by our providers.

8. Cookies & Analytics

Our marketing website uses privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve page performance.

We do not use this analytics setup to read Slack workspace content or to profile individual end users of your Slack workspace.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by revising the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through service notices.
